Practice Announcement!

Our co-owner and Practice Manager, Sam Liggett, will be leaving the practice in the near future and will not finish out 2026 with us. Sam was likely your initial point of contact when you started services, and she has been the practice’s go-to for billing and insurance concerns. As a founding member of Set Sail Counseling, we are sad to see her go but wish her all the best in her future endeavors.

Sam would like to leave everyone with the following message:

“My time here at Set Sail Counseling has been deeply fulfilling and my decision to leave was not one that was made lightly. Life has a funny way of showing you what path you are supposed to be walking, and as much as I have loved my time creating and operating this business, the feedback that I’m receiving from the universe has grown too loud for me to ignore. At Set Sail, we make a point to help clients prioritize their own well-being; now, it’s my turn, and I am stepping down to make sure that I am taking the best care of myself that I possibly can.

It has been an honor to be able to utilize my strengths in this setting, and to help the practice grow. Watching Set Sail expand from an itty bitty seed of an idea that Stacy and I had almost 10 years ago, into a full-blown dream realized, has been so much more gratifying than I could ever explain. I have loved getting to know clients from all walks of life, and have been particularly gratified in connecting with other folks from my beloved LGBTQ+ community, as well as those who are interested in political protest and advocacy.

Stacy, thank you for being both my anchor and my lighthouse. I could not have gotten back to myself without you. I think it’s safe to say that while I will not be part of the everyday hustle and bustle, I will still be on the sidelines, cheering you on. Stachia, thank you for joining us on this journey and allowing us to share in your expertise and joy. And finally, to all of our clients, past and present: thank you for trusting us on your journey. Thank you for being brave and making the active choice to show up for yourself. Each of you has inspired me in a unique, but decidedly permanent, way. I hope that you find exactly what you are looking for and that your hard work allows you to experience the beautiful life that you so deserve.

I am supremely confident that Stacy will continue to run the practice using our core values of courage, compassion, and excellence, and I look forward to watching her flourish.

Take good care,
Sam”

We thank you for your patience as we navigate this transition. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call our office!
